I den 18.10.2019 har Somalisk velferdsforeningen for Østfold for første gang arrangert en vellykket fantastisk overnattings helg til barn med alder mellom 10 og 14 år. Målet med dette prosjektet var å skape mestring, nye ferdigheter, vennskap og inkludering. I tillegg var den også ny opplevelse for barna og foreldrene som ikke har fått mulighet til å delta en slik opplevelse fra før. Dette var også å forebygge utenforskap og radikalisering i det somalisk miljøet i Fredrikstad. Det var SVF styret som fikk stønad til det prosjektet fra Fredrikstad kommune som gjennomførte selv arbeidet som frivillig innsats. Det var totalt 67 barn og 36 foreldre som deltok dette prosjektet. Det som motivert oss til å arrangere den overnattings helgen var at vi følte oss at barn som vokser opp i lav inntektsfamilier skal ha like muligheter for å delta på ferie- og fritidsaktiviteter på lik linje med alle andre. Under helg overnatting hadde vi ferdig program for 3 dager, Barne har fått faglig påfyll Og interesserende fritidsaktiviter blant annet, forelesninger, kahoot konkurranse, fotball og volleyball turnering, kino kveld Og Somalisk kulturelle danse opplæring. Vi har gitt diplomer både barne og foreldrene som deltok arrangementet Og som har gjort flott innsats. Også vi har gitt takker diploma til alle frivillige som hjulet oss under overnattingen. Tusen takk til Fredrikstad kommune som har hjulpet oss med dette prosjektet økonomisk messig, uten dere hadde det vært umulig å fullføre en så stor prosjekt som dette.
